The thing is, there's still gonna be a point of no return where AI automates so much of the economy that the majority of people literally can't work and thus don't have money to participate in the capitalist economy not everyone can be shopping cart ranglers. Eventually they'll HAVE to do something like UBI or even the WALL-E stuff because our current economic system, capitalism, cannot work without a large amount of people in the labor pool making money and spending it in the economy. Can't have capitalism when you automate the majority of the working class away.
