If anybody bothered to read the papers would have reached this conclusion. AI will be a great tool but it's not there yet. At this point it's just a very fancy expensive and accurate pair of dice. One thing that people rarely address is the underlying hardware. There was no exponential leap in hardware that could account for all the hype we are running these models on supercharged graphics cards with the same basic architecture as 20 years ago.
AI will need its own architecture designed for this type of application the equivalent of the positronic brain if there are any Asimov fans here. As we stand at the moment we are missing the positronic brain equivalent in hardware.
