If oil-rich countries, where the governing body owns the oil, can provide their citizens with stipends that allow them not to have to work and still get adequate clean air, clean water, clean food, shelter, medical care, the ability to get the same for their children, with enough left over to alleviate boredom, then restricting AI that replaces humans in manufacturing and services be owned by the governing body that provides these stipends is a no-brainer. If, and that is a big IF, we restrict AI to being job tools, this should work fine…as long as the resources hold out. Mining other planets, asteroids, suns, etc. cannot occur to fix resource scarcity without some incredible political will with AI working out how to balance all that stuff being added to our spinning top in a manner that keeps it spinning advantageous to sustaining life. Just the amount of clean water behind dams in the northern hemisphere caused a notable shift in the planet “wobble” quite some time ago. You cannot just add stuff to the planet haphazardly. That is still AI being used as a tool. AI that is imitating a human should be outlawed NOW!
