You guys act like thousands of careless drivers aren't crashing every single day. You said it yourself. There's over 40K deaths a year to which human drivers are fully responsible for. That's over 16K crashes a day. Human drivers crash one time per 500,00 miles. Tesla's Supervised FSD crash rate is approximately one crash per 7,000,000 miles, or more depending on the data, and that data also includes not at fault accidents (thing a rear end crash where a human was driving the other car. Also, just for Waymo FULLY autonomous driving, it's estimated they're involved in a crash every 475,000 miles, which also includes accidents where the car was hit by a non-human driver. That's also not to mention how NEW this technology is. Waymo only started testing on public roads eleven years ago and only launched their taxi service six years ago. Tesla only launched FSD six years ago for beta testing and it become more wide-scale about three years ago. The technology will only get better, and the data clearly tells us it's already better than human drivers. Like it or not, this is the future. At some point, it will be rare that a human is behind the wheel of a car. You guys sound like people complaining about computer use in 1990 or people complaining about cars in 1915.
