I don't understand.
Windows or Android doesn't appear to have any preference for being shutdown or being left on. They do not make attempts to subvert the user shutting them down and turning off the system.
Why would a non sentient system appear to show a preference one way or the other? Plenty of living organisms show degrees of self preservation and they aren't sentient, but most don't demonstrate cunning and ai aren't living organisms.
Someone help me understand.
