I wish I could properly explain this concept to people without just getting frustrated. I have spent so long improving my art because of the joy I get seeing my hours of work turn into something of my own. Something I created. As a kid, I loved watching Studio Ghibli movies (and I still do) because it was so inspiring to me. I was amazed to see hand-drawn art moving so expressively, beautifully, and emotionally and could only imagine how much time they had put into their stories.
It's the same reason I don't like AI as a writer. I am an English major in college BECAUSE I love learning how to write my own thoughts, arguments, and stories. However, seeing my peers use AI to write their essays for them---for an easy A---is pretty disheartening. Why take the class if you never wanted to learn? At the end of the day, I have no interest in AI's art, or what AI thinks would make a good story. I mean, there was no thought or bigger picture the AI had in mind. It's just doing what it was programmed to do. That's why I don't consider what AI provides "art."
