I'm far from an AI polyanna, but I don't think the main point here is valid. Companies owned by the ultra wealthy cater largely to the 'poor' masses with commodities. Ford, M&M Mars, Coach, Stanley, H&M, etc aren't luxury brands, but also would find a massive gap in the market should they try to shift that direction. They rely on the masses to slurp up their marketing and spend what they shouldn't on crap they don't need. There aren't going to be 100x more people who can afford a Lambo due to the new AI economy, actually likely far less. Are they going to eschew their super car brands to try out the new FendixMustang collab? Presuming these brands aren't run by the same rich trolls as luxury brands makes this leap somewhat plausible (except they are), but if that many rich people start getting hurt because nobody's shopping at Lowe's or McDonalds it's not like they can just 10x prices overnight and throw open the doors to an awaiting mob of 1%er's. They're also heavily leveraged and slow to change, so in this scenario much of the Fortune 500 folds tents within months, further scorching the rich as their non-asset riches get Thanos'd.
