I'm all for the poison no one should be grabbing your art without permission. We really need laws that if AI is used in any commercial use it cannot use any source material not owned by who is producing it. But I'm also all for the AI. And I'm an animator, mostly 3d animation but I do have some drawing skill. I know AI will overtake my industry eventually, but what it wont do is replace the creativity of the artist. AI currently has no "intelligence" it does not learn from the prompts you give it and be able to adjust to what you need it to do. Thus the artist cannot manipulate it to do anything new or creative, which means yeah it is pretty useless in an industry that needs innovation to draw in customers. When those controls come though thats when things will change, then storytellers will be able to create their own shows, alone or with a small team. And it wont require anyone's copyrighted work to do so. Live action photos and videos are available to anyone, and even if all artists work is removed and thats the only style AI can work in then thats what you will get because you can produce it faster and with more control. In some ways this will improve storytelling, you will no longer have Hollywood or other censors directing what must be or must not be in your show. For example Sonic 3 was excluded from an Oscar nomination from not being diverse enough. Remove the people that control the means of production will improve content for all. To some this up I say "Art requires intent and specific control, from a pencil line to a single frame in a cartoon, everything needs complete control by the artist. Without that AI is pretty lame and boring because it can only do whats already been done. But when that control is given to those that use AI, it will become a new art form."
