Who are the good guys? You Bill? (The guy who tried desperately to take ownership of Personal Computer Desktops for decades.) Fortunately open-source ethos prevented him (and his ilk) from succeeding.
Unfortunately, there will be no 'good guys' when it comes to AI. Google, Apple, Microsoft, Server Farms, and custom chip manufacturers will easily dominate the 'AI Universe' as it emerges. In fact, that's the reason AI has $Billions behind it already. And then there's China...
