14:32 Hoo, I feel like as a disabled artist who followed a lot of disability justice activists in his formative years, my thoughts on this issue are way too nuanced for a YouTube comment to convey everything I need it to. It’s infuriating to be in such an invisible minority that everyone advocating for you has never put in the work of understanding our actual needs. I remember doing a virtual workshop in class by an organization who helps businesses make their websites more accessible, and when my friend and I pointed out that their own website wasn’t following the guidelines they were preaching, we were met with excuses and brushed off almost entirely. So thanks for drawing attention to the fact that so many people weaponize our struggles, because it really is demeaning. Secondly, and I cannot stress this enough, even if someone’s disability truly prevented them from making art (which can happen, despite so many of us using disabled artists as a gotcha to claim every disabled person can do the same), it would not excuse the theft, environmental impact, and other issues with generative AI. Not everyone can do everything, but this technology is causing too much harm to people’s actual willingness to come up with their own ideas, and try things knowing they might fail. There are so many ways to make art more accessible without causing any of the harm that GenAI does, even if it’s never truly accessible for everybody. TLDR: Everyone besides Haley can stfu and listen once in a while. We are not your scapegoat, and we will not sit idly by while you use our struggles to justify causing harm.
