Ok, listen. The problem isn't that"AI takes our jobs". That statement is nonsensicle, unless your goal is for people to work.
I could hand out brooms on the street and tell people to clean the block. There: work.... what?... no, I won't pay them. All you said was "work".
What you want is for people to have a certain standart of living. These things have nothing to do with each other. The richest people with the highest standart of living, on average, do the least ammount of work, whereas other people work 2 to 3 jobs and bearely get by.
Automation (be it AI or machines in general) has to be produced by someone, or at the verry least maintained or supervised. So there is still work. If all of us work one hour a week, we all technically have jobs. All these people get payed and they in turn buy the stuff automation produces from their payment. That is what stuff is worth: the ammount of human labor that was put into it. Dirt or wild fruit are free, because noone ever touched it. If someone collected them and brought them to you, their price is equal to that person's labor. If that person used baskets and tools, the laber put into those is also in it. Assuming the person can pick double the dirt/fruit but price still stays the same, means half the labor in the end product was put into making the tools, but we, as a society, do have more ...berries. Meaning: the standart of living increases (even though all the berry-pickers protested the invention of the basket, because it would cost their jobs). On the long term, "free market pricing" doesn't exist, because when magains get slim, prices reflect human labor (aka the running cost of every company involved). Free market pricing is only the process of determining the ammount of labor in a consumer product with limited data (As long as people don't get rich, that is).
If people can't afford products and services when everything is automated, only means pricing is set wrong, or to be more precise: the ammount of human labor estimated in these products is set way to high. This is how crashes form, btw. And bubbles form when people produce s*t noone wants (like picking poisonous berries, to stay with my example).
