In theory, automating things would make sense. Iff we had stuff like UBI and more of a safety net so people could be able to transition to different work, have time to learn new skills, and they wouldn't have to fear about not being able to meet their family's needs. And of course if all the safety and environmental issues got worked out. But in our current state of society, it's hard to find things that are safe and legit.
