AI is doing two things at once: it exposes flaws we have learned to live with, and it gives us tools to redraw the playing field at record speed. The fear people feel is genuine, yet it comes from our human instinct to protect the status quo and keep anyone from moving our cheese (read the Spencer Johnson classic). We cling to what feels safe and familiar even when it slows us down and especially if it threatens our personal gains. The true leaders in AI already see that the world is moving forward, and the greater risk lies with those who try to keep everything exactly as it is. Change is inevitable and what remains in our hands is the direction we steer it. In today’s business landscape, regulation - a tool used for control - often does more harm than good, deepening the divide between people and companies. The largest players, especially those intent on consolidating power, always find a way around the barriers.
