This shows that automated control systems, such as Tesla Autopilot, are not perfect. These systems can still make mistakes. As a result the driver behind the steering wheel of the car needs to be on the alert and ready to take over when the automated control system malfunctions. In both of these cases if the driver had noticed their car coming up on the motorcycle and applied the brakes, this would override the automated system and slowed down the car.
