AI "art" has its place, and will continue to squeeze out real artists in certain fields. I don't think that real art will ever go away though. Truly creative artist, (not AI "artist") create out of a desire to create and express themselves through their work. Thousands of real artists create without ever trying to sell a single piece. Sadly our fast food society will accept AI "art" in a lot of ways, that is inevitable. I believe that it will make real art more exclusive, and perhaps more expensive.
