It’s not AI yet.
It’s too many degrees and even worse the degrees are in political science, gender studies, colonialism, etc. It’s the inability to read/write and able to reason. If the kids only have middle school math skills going into college, then they have probably have spent 4 years getting the to the point they have high school skills.
And while the young man here can speak intelligently and looks like someone that most people would hire, a lot of his peers don’t know how to dress or present themselves well.
Also employers get tired of hiring kids who don’t understand the concept of being at work on time and who spend more time on their phones than working.
Go to trade school, you start earning sooner, and while a few jobs will be replaced with AI, it’s going to be a long time before carpentry and other building trades disappear
