I am completely against deepfake porn. unfortunately tho, imo it is a lost cause like johansen said. the will never be a way to stop it, no matter how far into the underbelly of the internet it is pushed there will always be instances of it surfacing and going viral. even worse is the question of free speech, again i completely believe that nonconsentual deepfake porn is wrong, but then theres the southpark episode where someone was trolling and photoshopped dicks into peoples mouths and im sorry its mean but i completely support someones right to do that. theres all these lines we draw that if you look at the big picture end up scattered all over the place and the outcome will eventually be either everything losing meaning and no one is protected OR we just loose all our freedoms. again, no i do not believe someone should have the freedom to deepfake a pornographic video of someone and defame/slander them with it by distributing it publicly. i just dont think there is an actual reasonable solution to this problem
