this is exactly what i think about ai art, as a medium it has potential to allow people with no artistic talent to express their creativity in a visual format. The problem with it comes with the rest unfortunately which is what still turns me off of its existance as a public medium, for one: Its sourcing is trained off of people's art meaning it can recreate the art styles of artists who have a large collection to train off of, allowing people to create their own version of that artist's work without their permission, stealing credit and even using it as an alternative as to not have to pay the artist for their work directly. The second issue is that it comes with alot of costs in terms of water usage to cool down the extensive amounts of computers that require it to work effectively. Not only it is resource intensive but it actively contributes to alot of price rises and shortages of computer components for people that want them, additionally it requires alot of energy to process these animations and images which makes it unviable in the long term. The third issue, it oversaturates the creative space. On paper this doesnt sound like a bad thing, as it allowes everyone the opportunity to create what they want as i said previously - but rather im referring to how it allows content farmers, art theives and generally people looking to only make money into the space, essentially taking the fun out of creating for people with the passion to do so. I think overall, despite it increasing in quality each day, i think it lowers the general quality of media, as uncreative people looking for money will simply push out content after content just for the sake of numbers.
