I wouldn’t mind sharing the concept of being an artist or making art with AI image people, if they weren’t so scummy about it. You can share a space with someone if there’s respect, because the work of the people who were there first isn’t being diminished. Like corporations using AI art weren’t going to commission someone and pay them well anyway, they were never going to be prospective customers. And you can make yourself numb to stupid capitalism things. But the real tools are the people training AI models like they’re setting a dog loose in a field. They’re incapable of listening to the word no, they’re smug and ragebait-y, they speak like the AI image they just posted was received from the oracle after praying for an entire day, and nothing you ever say will make them consider not doing it. Interacting with them only gives them satisfaction, which is why I’m vagueposting about this here instead of under the tweet of that one guy who ghiblified a black and white realistic drawing of a dark-skinned girl with a skull on her head, and it turned into a white lady, and he was just like ‘fixed the shading, hope you like it’.
