8:29 "we need to be thinking about..."? whatever it is we need to be thinking about its already too late, i think whatever this is - AI or otherwise has reached a point of no return. this is not just AI but Education, Economy/Capitalism and Politics. This should have been settled before AI became a big thing. AI, whether as a cope, scapegoat, story or real just accelerated the real underlying problems of society. It will take a lot of energy/power to stop the momentum of all these moving pieces and whatever this is were rolling towards. I dont know whether were rolling uphill or downhill but were rolling and the time to have been thinking/planning has passed. The brakes and steering wheel is broken and we are rolling, good luck.
