I'm one of those weirdos that's an IRL artist that also trains AI with my own artwork, so that I can generate it as an experimental tool, without having to invest in materials that I honestly can't afford any more anyway. Have you priced professional art supplies lately? $150 for 1 gallon of gesso is insane, and it's been skyrocketing since the 90's. I use 1 gallon of gesso with every painting I make, so you can see how "experimentation" is kinda out of my price range. I use AI to make my REAL artwork better, and supplement my portfolio between paintings, which can take over a month to finish. I ONLY use AI professionally to reproduce or "remix" my own artwork, like musical artists remix their own music, and I always attribute those images with AI tags, to let people know what they're looking at. But because so many people have filtered out AI image results, a lot of people don't see my work when I post it online. It gets a little bit worse every day, as time rolls on. I sincerely wish people would make an exception for people like me who only use AI as a tool in their own IRL artwork, but for one thing I'm a freak who's different than most AI artists, or traditional artists for that matter, and don't expect exceptions to be made for me, and second I completely understand why people are fed up with AI art, mainly due to issues of copyright/attribution, but that's only the beginning.
