How would hallucinations be fixed? The LLM is just guessing, you could never guess the correct answer 100% of the time. You can't even reason out the answer 100% of the time. I'm using it to code and its knowledge is 2 years behind, so its guessing with an out of date data set. Even if it were constantly up to date, it needs to scrape the web for answers that people have posted, and that will be lagging behind as well.
If you don't care about the result, it'll do a good enough job for some tasks. There are plenty of companies that are fine with "good enough", but that's no doubt a net negative result for the world.
