All true, but I think the loss of that 'friends we made along the way' thing is exactly what the opposition of AI art is about. I think it's quite fair to be concerned that if AI is abused, it could ruin that whole community feel that we all love. Anecdotally, it's already quite annoying to see images on Instagram and realize oh well, no one actually made this, I'm not connecting to anyone when I look at it, bummer. As you might guess, this has caused me to shift a little in the direction of curated channels and communities.
That said, it's definitely quite nice seeing so many people come together under a shared cause. And it's not just artists btw, I see a ton of people who are not fans of the abuse of the technology as consumers either.
