I'm not watching this movie length YouTube video. I just saw the title "AI Art is Theft" and have to correct. If AI is theft, then so are regular artists as every artist takes inspiration from someone or something else. Exactly the same as AI. You're just upset that AI is so good at it and can be used by anyone and don't have to pay you with your extreme prices. If you're making artwork, you should be doing it for the sake of art anyways. Ars gratia artis. It's fine if you want to sell your art, but don't start demanding that people don't use alternatives just because of your own greed. Payment, like respect, has to be earned, not demanded. Artists need to take a chill pill and let people do whatever they want. AI isn't going anywhere and it is just a tool. If people want to use it, you can't stop it, nor should you. If people want to enjoy art, let them, no matter how it was made. Back on the topic of "theft", if it's due to the data being scraped, well, the artists posted their artwork online. It was already scraped long before AI even became a thing. If you don't want to use AI, good for you I guess. I'll keep using AI as I have no intent on learning how to draw and no intent on paying artists a hefty sum just for 1 image of something I might not even end up liking, or a coder to make a python script for me only to have to pay them again later to fix something later on. AI is a gift from the gods. Of course, just like "real" art, there are a LOT of bad artwork out there. And with AI this is more extreme because it's super easy to pick up AI and gen some slop. Unfortunately most sites don't have a proper filter system for this. Either you can set it to view all images, AI or not, or disable all AI. Setting it so you can only view good AI gens doesn't exist on most sites. I really wish it wasn't like this. Still I'm glad AI exists as it opens up so many possibilities for everyone. Haters gonna hate though, just like people did when digital art became a thing. Yet nobody complains about Photoshop's patch tool (amongst other things), which uses AI lmao. The worst part that has happened due to AI, is schizo artists quitting or using shitty glaze/nightshade on their artwork, literally ruining it, even though it does absolutely nothing. I love artwork but I absolutely hate low quality garbage, no matter how it's made.
