I mean, when a human learns how to write better by reading, the human is taking note of techniques, like using stronger verbs instead of relying too heavily on adverbs. Then, the human uses their own vocabulary and style to talk about their own feelings on their choice of topics using the new techniques in their own way.
When an AI learns how to write better by reading, it just lifts the voice of the passage wholesale, learning the pattern of words and thereby the pattern of speech, learning the thoughts and themes of the passage with those patterns. It doesn't synthesize in forming its own thoughts and feelings about the subject, and it doesn't turn to a new subject except by mad libbing out appropriate words. And that's just plagiarism. And plagiarism is just theft.
