Nice work Bernie thx. 100M jobs lost and there are ~177M total working Americans today as we speak.
-So that is a ~60% unemployment rate or 6 of every 10 out of work.
-OK cut it in half just for kicks that is a 30% U/E rate which is 50% higher than the great depression.
-And if it is even a third or qtr of their estimates then were right around the great depression levels 15-20% U/E.
*I am glad you talked corporations(esp the top 10 AI) picking up the tab for Universal Basic Income(UBI) so the tens of millions with no job or money can actually buy/consume the products & svcs these companies(made w their robots).
The ole Fed Gov can NOT pay the tab for the unempl. citizens because 70-80% of today's income taxes to fund the GOV come from.......Workers! So if half the workers are gone= ~half the $$$$ GOV income GONE.
=====Corps. are THE only way. They make this bed this need to sleep in it.
Lastly no current economic system works under a 20%+ unemployed workers scenario as consumption is 70% of the economy. We will need a new system that does not even exist today. Work? Money? Both need to be completely re-imagined.
