Raw LLM Responses

So far the only really creative use I've seen for AI art is from a series called "Lost Books". They're historical fiction stories based on real life events but they use AI generated images in the style of old-timey photographs to accentuate the writings and lend to the aesthetic of them being "real" historical literature. The dude behind them, Tim B., is a Canadian artist who has been dabbling with AI but comes from a more traditonal art background and went to art school. His Lost Books series is pretty neat actually and I think is a really cool and good use of AI in art as opposed to how we typically see people using AI "art". The only other way I can see it being alright would be for generating pictures of like D&D characters based on your description of their appearance. Sometimes I just literally cannot find art online that fits what I have in mind for my character, so I think using it for my fun hobby I just do with my friends is a valid use as well, especially since my own art skills are... not great, unless I'm literally just drawing what I see, and even then I find it hard to draw living things, even from a still reference photo. Not trying to say that AI art isn't harmful to artists or anything, just trying to say that there ARE other ways of using AI in/for art that DOESN'T involve ripping off of artists' work to train them or recreate them - I'm not a fan of that either. AI has potential to be used well in a lot of areas, even creatively, but it should be treated more as a tool to SUPPLEMENT artists rather than freeloading off of or straight up trying to replace them. (Yeah my D&D character generator idea doesn't EXACTLY follow suit, but as long as such a thing is trained in an ethical manner, I think using something like that for a game you play with your friends is still okay). There are so many more creative and innovative ways to use AI than trying to render artists obsolete. TL;DR Instead of using AI to make art and write so I can spend more time doing dishes and folding laundry, I'd rather we use AI to do dishes and fold laundry so I can spend more time making art and writing lol
