I think the problem isn't with AI itself, but with our own value system. Your friend didn't value learning about astronomy. School isn't about broadening our perspectives and understanding of the world anymore, it's about degrees. About a piece of paper that proves our worthiness to work a job that pays a living wage. Art isn't about communication anymore, it's a way to earn attention and admiration in a loveless world where we're all too self-absorbed to truly listen. I think we were already becoming hollow before AI burst onto the scene. I can only hope that it highlights what has been lost and encourages us to return to ourselves. I think your video is a step in that direction.
