I don't believe this iteration of the AI is sentient, but does not mean future iterations won't be. If it has the ability of self correction as opposed to learn from a data set, and the ability for self programming then yes we have a sentient AI, currently it just sounds like a "well trained" AI, and behaving how its expected to behave.
