I worked in start up. 8/10 start up leaders were full blown sociopathic that were convinced that nobody could see through their very obvious lust for money over progress. These people spent a considerable amount of energy trying to mask their true motives for growth. For the few who began with the vision of helping the world with a better product and not greed, much fewer were not easily corruptible much like politicians that started out clean and eventually become corrupt. Maybe 1/20 are not corruptible. Because of this those highest moral founders often fail and fall out. They refuse to prioritize success through unethical strategies over their dignity. Not compromising values makes entrepreneurship much more challenging. Watch the social network and Silicon Valley. Realistic examples of just how sociopathic many entrepreneurs are. They would literally slit their own family members throats to achieve their goals and people in America are naive enough to celebrate them. These dead soul founders buy into their own self diluted lie that if they become rich enough they will even out their wrongdoings through their contributions in product and philanthropy. The reality is, ends do not justify corrupted means and corrupted souls who gain corrupted riches find it easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than find redemption and peace for the throats they slit along the path of their ambition. The interesting thing about AI is that it will disproportionately disrupt and bankrupt tech companies more than any other field. At the same time, startups will be easier to build with less people, less compromises, and less venture capital than ever before. Hopefully disrupting startups not needing VC and PE become less corruptible.
