It's a bit hard to watch a guy that could be used as the poster for the academic elite, having spent his entire career ignoring his critics while pushing AI to the brink, now claim that he had no idea where this could go and continuously pointing fingers at other people as being driven by the desire of power and notoriety. It is laughable to think that he was unaware of the warnings of where this stuff could go, the most obvious thing out there was The Terminator, that was released 41 years ago and there are other warnings in literature like RUR that date back over a century. He knew where this could/would go but made a choice to try to become the "grandfather..." Now he is probably worried about his legacy when everything comes crashing down. His moral high horse is hard to swallow...
