The news media has only themselves to blame after decades of super-biased reporting and injection of opinion masquerading as news. They stopped being reliable, so people sought out other sources. And now, any jerk with an AI prompt can manufacture reality to suit whatever agenda they want, and since traditional media won't/can't report on every factual (even if inconvenient to their biases) story, those alternative sources carry weight. I foresee a system of trust signatures (like the old PGP system) for video and players that warn if content is coming from "untrusted" sources.
