Im pretty new to software (~16 months self taught/bootcamp). AI and offshoring has already basically destroyed junior SWE positions unless you can demonstrate you have the communication skills to one day manage a team. The other side of the coin is that a savvy engineer can truly be a 1 man army with AI and run their own dev shop that once would have required 3-5 people
