I'm not necessarily for or against A.I. art. But I will say that I will never have the ability to draw what's in my head. I do not have the ability to put fifty thousand hours of my life into developing a highly difficult and intricate elite skill. That's no knock against the people who HAVE developed that skill, but not all of us have the ability to develop enough artistic ability to give form to the tales in our minds. Nor do we have the tens of thousands of dollars of disposable income needed to commission highly trained and experienced artists to do it for us. Most of us are lucky if we can obtain one single image of one single person among all the characters living in our minds. Without tens of thousands of hours or tens of thousands of dollars, can you blame the people who would otherwise simply trawl Pinterest or Google Image Search for trying to create, rather than steal? Especially when so many artists get just as furious for art "theft" as they do over A.I.? Artistic talent isn't tyranny, no. But when all of society feels stacked against your earnest desire to simply see the face of the people whose stories you delight in? I can see where someone might think so.
