I'm an LA based 3D vfx artist. I blend CG with AI to do things CGI either can't do or can't do fast enough to meet a deadline. I hate random AI slop as well. I would see a movie that uses AI but not one made entirely of AI. There's no good from it. After a while of using AI, I can say it might reduce crew sizes, but I can't avoid CGI for vfx. The need for CG artists will still exist. I don't think UBI will ever exist. The money has to come from tax revenue, and tax revenue comes from a job market, and there's no way the billionaires are going to let us have their money just for being born into a wasteland they created. We're going to have to invent things AI can't do.
