I have another sad story. I know chatgpt can generate videos and pictures, along with scripts for videos. There are people out there who use AI to generate jesus video's and voice overs, that are painfully cringe. They make these brainrot, manipulative accounts on YouTube, knowing which audiences are most vulnerable (elderly). They even ASK for money sometimes.....They say things like "you my chosen child" and use very manipulative wordings. My step grandmother fell for this trap during an isolating and traumatic time. She is now in what I call in an internet and AI induced psychosis. She really has believed that someone is going to pick her up and take on her on an island where she can work for Jesus and make all this money to help her family. :((( it's very sad, she literally packs her bags some days saying they said today is the day. Nothing ever happens, obviously. Except for her crying all day bc she doesn't know where to go and doesn't want to lose her "job"....there's definitely people behind these accounts, utilizing AI for their content in every aspect. It's so sad and no counselor or doctor has been able to help, idek if they understand the severity of it or what this internet and AI induced psychosis even is?...or maybe they do, they just don't know how to help because it's more of a new issue? She's been watching these hundreds of YouTube accounts for Years now, she's so far in and it effects her negatively everyday. It's so concerning and stressful, especially when she cries all day or packs her bags up one day. She says the island is on the river, we tried taking her to the river nearby to show her there's nothing there. One night she went missing, she went up a random gravel road (still don't know where)...and tore up her car. Had to call the cops.....she truly thought she would find these "people" that the AI vids claim to be angels of God or whatever other crazy wordings. We've had her admitted to hospitals and the police involved. Along with her doctors and counselors. They literally never helped, all they did was shove psychosis meds down her throat and still said she was "sound of mind" and absolutely nothing changed, just the meds made her sleep more. It's so fucked up and I wish I could have stepped in sooner when she 1st found these vids bc I didn't go see her for a few years, I had no idea she was watching the videos and being so naive and easily manipulated. Partially bc she is very naive person in general, but she also felt lonely with my grandfather whom was an alcoholic (I didn't know) and was traumatizing her (again had no idea) I can say now he is finally clean and she finally moved back in with him. They luckily don't have internet right now, but im sure they will eventually and she still comes to my house to use the internet and cry sometimes about how she doesn't know where to go. ....... heartbreaking and I'm afraid she will take her AI psychosis to the grave and won't have any rest.
