I think the label "alien" is very proper. I go back to some comments on Jungian theory, where the raw agency of an archetype (raw instinctive affect) is not humanized into the categories of the ego and therefore it's destructive. I think that's true at some level with AI when we don't code it line by line, who the f knows all the ways in which it's literally alien to what is perceived as a benefit for the ego of people (read, "for people").
