I’m not a visual artist, I’m a hobby writer, but a lot of these points hit home for me as well. When I write, I often read my sentences aloud to check for flow and readability. It genuinely helps, especially when I’m getting repetitive. AI cannot read what it writes aloud. It is a shameful facsimile of the care I put into every paragraph, sentence, word, and punctuation.
If any AI fans read this, thinking AI allows them access to the skills they lack, let me share my artists motto: BAD STUFF IS GOOD STUFF BECAUSE YOU MADE STUFF. Creating is the point, the journey is the point. The final product isn’t the point, especially if it’s a hobby and not your livelihood.
