This time is different. A job is simply a task that someone is willing to pay another person to perform. Any job that involves sitting at a desk and using a computer can be replaced by AI or AGI. Moreover, any new tasks or roles that emerge will also be handled by AI or AGI. If most existing and newly created white-collar tasks can be automated, what white-collar job could a person realistically reskill for that won’t eventually be done by AI or AGI?
