A simulation theory. AI developed to the point no one can understand it. All jobs replaced. People have nothing to do. What does the AI do with all those people ? Creates a simulation and puts everyone there, makes people coping with day to day chores till the humanity slowly dies off. Like Matrix with different principles. Matrix combined with Love Death and Robots beyond the Aquila Rift episode.
Or just realizing the fact there is nothing to do other than the simulation we live in...
