The problem for most people today is the fact that technology is moving along exponentially faster than society's ability to adapt. I remember, for example, when layoffs were a last resort used to right a floundering company. Today, AI is being used to hunt down job redundancy on an ongoing basis. There are literally teams of workers armed with AI whose job it is to eliminate jobs on an ongoing basis. Just because you survived being laid off last month doesn't mean your number won't come up next month. Computing changed the world of work. Now, they are changing how change is being implemented and how quickly that change will occur.
