Thanks Bernie for a good speech and an important topic. It is very likely that this is exactly what will happen: AI will replace humans at some point. Many people will then be unemployed and without a livelihood. Some kind of citizen's salary will probably have to be introduced. Where will the money come from? If democracy is still in force then, the decision-making power will be with citizens, who can decide to tax robots and the wealth they build. That may be the easiest part, although the owners of the companies will certainly oppose it. In addition to work, new questions will arise. What is a person's life like without the work that we have become accustomed to over generations? How do we spend our time? Are we somehow developing ourselves or is it all just pure enjoyment, or maybe a virtual life, the kind we hope for? However, many changes are coming that will affect us all. Even though I am from the happiest country in the world, Finland, I am a pessimist. I suspect that we will fall deeper into conflicts and wars. Those who survived have a huge task ahead of them in trying to make this world more humane, or are we facing a totalitarian AI surveillance society led by a few. Defend truth and democracy, as we do here in the borderland. Thank you. 💙🤍
