It does show a lot with that chat GPT "fix" - tho it's not just a modern problem.
In older days when a company "got someone killed" (to keep it quick) they applied similar levels of boneheaded fixing to appear like they did something.
The problem with the "AI" is that it's just a program unleashed onto the internet and re-acquiring all the bad data all over again - because people who let it loose only care about margins and profits, not use cases.
And well, as someone in comments already said- the whole situation is basically the new "The internet doctor said it was cancer". Same cut corners, same "we try to democratize the X", same "we want to bring X to everyone (with the lowest effort possible)".
