Oh a big youtuber likes using AI art since it saves time and creates more things. (Not this one) You know when that happens? You start seeing more of the same.. anything interresting becomes boring and over done. Investment in creations drop since... "Well I didn't spend that much time on it.. might as well make another." As someone who makes concepts every other day and cannot draw... how many times have I used GenAI? 0 times. Cause the fun ain't in seeing concepts drawn out. The fun is making the concept work in actuality. And I done that plenty of times using creation tools.... Like I don't know.. MAKING A VTUBER FROM SCRATCH! I seen a lot of art youtubers go: "Well without AI art I wouldn't have made this thing in time." Okay... well... with AI art.. I don't need to see your channel, I can make my own by telling an AI to make mine like yours. The problem with AI inheritantly isn't that it's being used as a tool. It's being used as a way to get what you want without much effort. And with no effort.... anyone can do it...and thus value for it drops. There is a reason Chef's are still employed since you cannot "Generate" expensive tasty food. Even microwaving a cheap meal isn't the same. And if you could.... why would anyone cook anymore? Anyone can press: "Make a gordon ramsey styled dish." And thus eating becomes boring since everyone eats high level food. The problem with AI is not replacing artists either... THE PROBLEM IS it stiffles all creative efforts. It makes everything possible, it isolates people. Why would I watch a show if I can create my own show? Ooh no one watches my show? I'll steal a show and-- no one watches that since everyone is watching a thing of their own. You see the problem? It kills culture too. No reason to come together.... wich is already hard in this day and age.. but now? How can you foster a community if anyone in those communities can branch off making their own stuff? The next big problem with GenAI? FALSIFICATION! ...You know... Scams... copies... reality being blurred.... If AI becomes so good at making realistic things... how many false reports can be made? Or... better yet.... How many kids will be bullied at school for having AI generated videos of them doing things that ain't true?? How many revenge corn can be made?! Heck how about PDF Files generated of -- you get it! There will be no privacy. You cannot avoid the internet forever... or else you will not be able to do anything in life. So expect a world where AI will generate videos of you innocently but also maliciously. (WICH I DO NOT WANT) And then we have the data centers.... Oh god...the data centers....The power and water they consume goes up by the day... the amount of chips and parts they need is astronomical... AAAAAAAAAAND...... Pollution they create and more. It is currently the most water hog intensive tech ever... but not only this.. but these data centers are gonna be causing wars. These wars were gonna happen regardless but it's being pushed to the forefront now. Also I will come out and say this... GenAI will destroy the economy. Not cause it replaces workers and such.. Cause it will devalue all art to 0. But it has to stay cheap... and well we seen how netflix is doing... Also how much profit is OpenAI making? Non? They make millions of loss per MONTH and it aint' going down!? Wow... so millions and billions of dollars just dissappear every day to fund AI features... So how do I see the future working of any AI company? Simple... economics have no value anymore. Any art? Generated by any joe schmoe.. so art and pictures have no value... Any skills? AI does it.. why put value on it? Everyone is in debt cause no one can make money.. not even the AI companies who have to keep up with demand. And yes.. I base this off the positive future AI bros say their tech can do. In the end.. the best outcome for AI is living in a star trek world... but insted of going into space.. we're all lazy and anti-social with no real drive. "Why go to space? I CAN GENERATE ALIEN PLANETS!" And no one used AI maliciously or AI went rogue. Of course... if you want to be realistic. AI has no future since it requires constant human input to stay "stable" or else it poisons itself. So bascially if every Artist quits right now... AI will be poisoned in 2 months and unable to function.
