I must be pretty stupid as I'm really not grasping what this is all about.
I don't see how AI can feel pain... and so I don't see how it could ever be considered a 'person' ... it can't suffer... and to reduce/remove suffering is the main underlying precept for us having human rights. So why would it be necessary to give them rights?
What am I missing?
