I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand. Right now, AI is as dumb as it ever will be…and it already beats us in nearly everything. It WILL take every single job/occupation and much sooner than anyone imagined.
Why aren’t we doing anything? Now?
Are we actually going to wait until an unemployment rate of 99.9% and people are literally burning down cities and killing each other for scraps before we demand certain measures from our governments? We should have implemented a plan for UBI a decade ago. We knew technology would become better and better, no matter what else happened. We didn’t do it because our politicians didn’t want to upset the big corps by drastically increasing the tax they pay. But what happens when there are 5 huge companies and no jobs? When 99% of ppl can’t buy anything from any company anymore? What reason is there to grow? Increase revenue? How do you increase revenue when your only customer is the government and no one else?
