There's a major flaw in the argument: If every company replace all it's workers with AI, and unemployment skyrocket, then all of the non-AI companies WILL die eventually in a domino cascade, as you've pointed out. When that happens, the AI companies have no clients anymore, and they'll crater as well. AI companies understand this very well, and are the biggest proponents for UBI (and not just 1000$ a month, the target is around 2500 actually). Because they know that for them to keep existing and growing, they need customers, and those customers are all of those other companies that relies on selling things to humans down the line. The administration WOULD listen to them - and implement a UBI as soon as the companies that sell to human are actually struggling. Also, even if we are to imagine the AI companies would be against it, we'd just go back to a French Revolution style scenario, where at one point enough people are unemployed that they'd resort to stealing and then organizing to take over the government, and most likely ban AI outright at this point. The Military would join then if only because their own families would be caught in the unemployment wave. There'll be some VERY rough years when unemployment skyrocket and one of those solutions isn't there yet. But this isn't the end of the world, just a rough few years around 2030.
