AI doesnt do what it does thoughtfully, so its not the same thing with humans.
What they are doing is more similar to me just taking mona lisa and increasing contrast by %50 and calling it a new painting. But instead of just the contrast, they "edit" and alter a variety of properties of the image all at the same time.
AI doesnt get inspiration and "see" like artists do, it just imitates mindlessly. It will take over jobs, except the places where the paintings are more than "Huh, that looks pretty".
What im more excited to see is the shift/ascension in artistic perception of the masses. You know how the majority of the non-artist people considers art as "something that looks pretty/realistic" and would probably think about some of Pollock's work for example, as "Bro what the fuck is that shit, looks like my diarrhea".
Just drawing pretty/realistic will not cut it anymore, and maybe we will finally begin to see some real art. Cant wait.
