Wait so... well this is mind blowing really. I am considering to think this is a fake student but I really could not tell if people are actually this ruined or if its just faked to serve as a warning. I have done MBO (level 4) and HBO (level 6) at this point (graduating in a few months). I am planning on going for a level 7 via a master. Now, what I have noticed is that students can be this... under qualified... but this really ices the cake tho. Not knowing how to solve a problem is one thing, but not even knowing the syntax of a language is a whole different story. I get how people can not learn about the stack and heap in 4 years time (surprising, but sure it can happen). But you can't tell me that you have been programming for 4 years and not know your basics of the basics. We are expected to be able to build microservice architectures in JS and C#, make mobile apps in Swift and Jetpack Compose, build a game engine in C++ (game engine is for a minor program offered by my university as a specialization), the list is longer. By the end of my study I have touched (not counting CSS and html as programming languages, they aren't) Java, Kotlin, Swift, C#, PHP, F# (functional programming), bash (I believe that counts?), python, JavaScript, Typescript, and now C++. That, dear reader, sums up to about 11 languages in total. Yea you can't know them all as well, and the primary focus is C# with some Laravel for the first three years. Learning the language is not like learning the ecosystem but we are taught that this is the case. If you call yourself a TS dev because you have touched TS you are not a TS dev. I have touched 11 languages and am a junior C++, C#, and F# guy. But after four freaking years you would expect to at least know the programming side of what Coding Jesus asked. I see it every week or so when I tutor students and give homework assistance. They grow more stupid by every ChatGPT update. Its just so... idiotic. But to see that it goes as far as this video has showed is shocking... I ones had a guy that asked me how Rider worked because they did not attend the class and where using a mac. First thing they asked is how to install co-pilot. They dragged and dropped the assignment in and closed their laptop. They didn't even pay attention. Asked them what solutions and projects are. Did not have a clue, but asked for help with Rider. They didn't even know where the obvious green run button was. It just feels so idiotic. I am so glad I did not have AI during my study the way their generation does...
