Just like using AI to help with programming, you have to actually know a lot about the subject to be able to use them effectively. What they are is a tool to make certain things faster, or to find threads to pull to find a solution to a problem you're having. I can't tell you how often I get referred to a solution that doesn't actually exist, but it's just close enough to point me in the right direction to find the real solution.
